Synopsis
The protagonist is a young girl who ends up in exile on another planet, while her beloved one lives on the Earth. Desperate, she tries to attack the Earth with manifestations of love. But whatever she does, all her projectiles, namely letters, messages, and calls burn out when entering his atmosphere, so her attacks stay unnoticed. At the risk of burning out herself, the girl goes on a suicidal rocket trip, during which she will have to face unknown forms of life and her own consciousness. Which revelations await her on the way? Will she be able to get her boyfriend’s attention again? It is a simple, but honest story about loneliness, despair, and obsession, about human limits and overcoming these limits.

The word Re-entry means the act of entering the Earth's atmosphere after traveling in space. But another meaning is “a playing card that will enable a player to regain the lead”. For me, the main interest in this project is in exploring peoples' ways to live their lives after committing mistakes.
Aesthetics
Re-entry is conceived as a cartoon for “kidults” (adult kids). It will unite naive kindness, profound sadness, and limitless absurdity. The viewer will be submerged in a lurid world of fantasies, foreign and familiar at the same time.

Technological solutions
The world (space, planets, spaceship) and some characters will be a 3D model created and animated in Blender. Other characters will be filmed on video, then rotoscoped. I want to mix different techniques and use them consequently depending on current events and the psychological condition of the main character.
Possibilities of extension
I want Re-Entry to be more than a film, but a whole artistic ecosystem. I know that not everything can be done within the Master’s project, but in long-term perspective I would do the following:
  • An immersive installation, where the world of Re-Entry will be projected in the dark room, and the viewer can walk inside it with the headphones and listen to sound art and characters’ voices.
  • A video game where the player can pilot his intergalactic spaceship trying to overcome physical and psychological obstacles.
What I want to learn through this project
For my Master’s project I would like to make something challenging, which would push me out of my comfort zone and bring my art to the next level. In this regard, I set to myself the following goals:
  • My next film should have a well-reflected structure. No random solutions, no hope for luck. Everything should be in its place for a reason.
  • It should be performatively narrative. Even if there will be a lot of abstract and surreal elements, I want the story to be understandable.
  • Technical quality should be impeccable.
  • In the process I want to collaborate with other people, especially sound designers.
  • I want to go through all the stages of the pipeline. I want my film to have a scenario, a storyboard, an animatic, etc. Even if they won’t be classical ones.
  • Like all good things in life, it should last more than 5 minutes.
